Bali United FC 1-3 Global Cebu FC

Indonesia’s Bali United went down 1-3 to Philippines’ Global Cebu FC in their final AFC Cup Group G game on Wednesday.

Global got off to a great start when Spaniard Rufo headed in from close range that beat Bali United goalkeeper all hands up. Global doubled their lead three minutes after the half-hour mark through a worldie from Paul Mulders. The Filipino intercepted the ball from midfield and unleashed a stinging strike from well outside the box that went in.

Rufo Sánchez then made it 3-0 before half-time as Global capped off a stunning half. Nick van der Velden pulled one back for the home team on 71 minutes but it would not make a difference to the end result. Both teams would not qualify for the semifinals, however.
