Asian Games Trials: Men`s Volleyball Team Defeats Thailand 3-0

Indonesia’s men’s volleyball national team prepared for the 2018 Asian Games won over Thailand 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) in the Lienvietpostbank Cup international volley tournament in Ha Nam, Vietnam, Sunday, May 27.

The victory over Thailand, which is an SEA Games gold medalist in Kuala Lumpur became special, it is a full victory 3-0 over Thailand who achieved first by the Indonesia team, after in 2009.

“It is very encouraging because this is Indonesia’s victory over Thailand with a score of 3-0 since 2009,” said national team volley manager Rachmat Harsono on Sunday.

According to him, in the game which is the third time in the tournament, there are tactics and strategy on the service and attack patterns.

“The players also play more relaxed and enjoy. In addition, the mental fighters of the players are incredible,” he said.

The team cared by Samsul Jais now faces Myanmar on Monday (28/5) and China on Sunday (29/5) and if they able to win only one match of both, it is certain that Aji Maulana and his friends will qualify for the semi-finals.

The victory over Thailand 3-0 itself is Indonesia’s second victory in the international volleyball tournament Lienvietpostbank Cup. Previously, Vietnam as the host was also defeated 3-0 on Saturday (26/5).

The Indonesian national team prepared for the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, was just defeated by Kazakhstan with a score of 2-3 in the opening match on Friday, May 25.
