Govt to Soon Ratify Decree on Civil Servant`s THR

The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Asman Abnur said President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will sign a decree on holiday allowance or THR for the civil servant. According to Asman, the regulation on THR will be issued in May 2018.

“[The regulation] has been drafted. Now we are waiting for President to sign it and will be done this month,” said Asman in Presidential Palace, Tuesday, May 22.

Asman estimated the allowance will be distributed two weeks prior to Lebaran holiday (D-14 or D-15) and the fund will possibly increase compared to last year. In 2017, the government allocated the budget of holiday allowance at Rp7 billion, the same value for the thirteenth salary for the civil servant.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani when met on Tuesday, May 22 refused to talk about the issue. “The president later will announce it,” she said in Juanda I Building at Finance Ministry office.

Earlier, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri has signed a Circular Letter No. 2/2018 on Distribution of 2018 Religious Holiday Allowance to governors, mayors, and regents throughout Indonesia. “Based on the Manpower Ministerial Decree No. 6/2016, the payment of religious THR is an obligation that should be done by every employer to the workers,” said Hanif on May 13.
