Asian Games; Densus 88 Helps Secure Tangerang
The police’s anti-terror squad Densus 88is taking part in securing the 2018 Asian Games in Tangerang, Banten. Their participation is expected to make athletes and visitors feel safer throughout the event.
Head of Tangerang City Police, Sr. Comr. M. Sabilul Alif said his troops are coordinating with the Densus 88 team before, during and after the upcoming 2018 Asian Games.
“The goal is to keep athletes and other concerned parties worry-free over terror acts and feel comfortable during their stay in Tangerang regency,” he said in Tangerang, Monday, May 21.
The organizing committee of the 2018 Asian Games has decided that the Pentathlon will be held in Tangerang’s Tigaraksa sub-district. The sports competed are fencing, swimming, horse-riding, running and boxing.
In and around the arena, 520 officers from the Tangerang City Police, the Mobile Brigade (Brimob), Banten’s bomb squad (Gegana) will be on guard, joining forces with the military and assisted by the Transportation Department as well as the public order agency Satpol PP.
