Leaving City, This is Yaya Toure’s Most Valuable Trophy
Yaya Toure will certainly leave Manchester City next season. The club decided not to renew his contract which expires at the end of the season.
During his eight seasons strengthening Manchester City, Toure has many good memories, including one trophy he thinks most valuable, the English Premier League trophy for the 2011/2012 season.
The trophy is so special for the former Barcelona midfielder it symbolizes Man City’s ability to end Manchester United’s dominance.
“Honestly, that (English Premier League trophy 2011/2012) is my best achievement in the City, that’s right,” Toure said as quoted Soccerway.
“When I came here, they wanted to be a big club and the only way was to get away from the shadows of MU … That was the goal – coming to the City, kicking MU out of their throne and admitting it would be difficult,” he continued.
Since strengthening Manchester City from 2010, Toure has won three Premier League and League League titles and an FA Cup by making 79 goals in over 300 appearances in all competitions for City.
