Additional Days in Collective Leave Set to Facilitate Homecomers
The government`s additional collective leave for Eid holiday this year is expected to reduce traffic and facilitate the massive exodus that traditionally occurs before and after Eid Day.
“This will ease people in managing [their trip plan during] the peak season,” said Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 18.
According to Budi, the added collective leave will further facilitate the people participating in the Ramadan exodus (homecoming) period whom would often order tickets for public transports two days prior to the Eid al Fitr day.
“People could use the extra collective leaves which can further facilitate them,” he said.
Minister Budi argues that the added leaves will open more flexible options for the people that intend to visit their relatives back in their hometown.
As previously reported, the Indonesian government has decided to add extra days to the existing collective leave on June 11-12 prior to the Eid al Fitr day and two days after on June 15-16.
