Official, Luis Enrique Trains Spain to the European Cup in 2020
The Spanish football federation (RFEF) has officially appointed Luis Enrique as the new coach of the Spanish national team on Monday (9/7/2018).
Excerpted from the ESPN website, Luis Enrique will become the Matador Team’s strategist with a two-year contract period or until the 2020 European Cup. “The decision is unanimous We love Luis Enrique’s commitment,” said RFEF president Luis Rubiales.
“He has fulfilled all the parameters of the criteria set by management Luis Enrique will come with his staff and he can talk next week,” he said.
Luis Enrique will fill the position left by Fernando Hierro after declaring retreat on Sunday (7/8/2018).
Hierro retired after disappointing results at the 2018 World Cup. Spain must be eliminated after losing on penalties from Russia in the last 16. During his coaching career, Luis Enrique has coached three clubs namely AS Roma, Celta Vigo, and Barcelona.
However, Enrique’s name is better known when Barcelona coach for three seasons since 2014. Total Enrique won nine titles with Barcelona.
The 2014-2015 season is Enrique’s best season for winning a treble winner or Spanish League champions, Spanish League Cup and Champions League in one season. Top of this achievement, Enrique was elected as the best coach in the world in 2015. After leaving Barcelona in 2017, Enrique has not trained yet.
