No Indonesian Alls Victim in Hurricane in S Korea
So far, there is no Indonesian citizen fall victim in a hurricane which has occurred since Monday afternoon in Southern Jeju and surrounding areas in South Korea.
“The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul continues to monitor and conduct intensive communications with local authorities to ensure the conditions of Indonesian
citizens,” Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, Siti Sofia Sudarma, said in a statement received by Antara on Tuesday.
She added that the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul has been searching for information, while the local authorities mentioned that there was one Thai citizen who died and one injured in Yeonggwang and Beosang areas located in Jeolla Province (about 270 kilometers from Seoul City).
The typhoon also damaged five houses and 50 vehicles. Sixty one buildings, including houses, are hit by flooding.
The local authorities have warned all citizens to be alert given that hurricanes could happen in other parts of Korea. People are urged to avoid places like beaches, rivers, and bridges, and car drivers to be very careful during heavy rains.
