Miley Cyrus Funds For Immigrant Children’s Fund in the US

Actress and singer Miley Cyrus raise funds to help immigrant children who are separated from their parents in the United States because of US President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance policy.

More than 2,300 children have been separated from their families after the adoption of Trump’s controversial zero tolerance policy.

This policy allows law enforcement agencies to separate minors from their parents and detain them after they illegally cross the Mexican border into the United States.

Trump has signed an executive order to end the immigration policy that separates this immigrant family, but there are still many families who have not reunited.

Many celebrities are looking for ways to give their help to this social issue and Cyrus is now joining them by forming a fund raising organization, KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) on Facebook.

Since launching his campaign on Monday (25/6), singer Wrecking Ball has raised funds of US $ 32 thousand, from its goal of reaching US $ 35 thousand or approximately Rp503 million.

“Congratulations Hippie and I believe everyone deserves to be next to their family and deserves a safe place called home,” wrote a Hannah Montana star on a Facebook account.

“Thousands of immigrant children and their families fled from the violence that occurred in their home country and wanted a future where they could be safe and together.”

“Join me to support KIND, a non-profit organization working to protect the basic rights of children unaccompanied by their families in the US Fund will be used to provide family legal representation so they can reunite.”
