Warriors Star Curry Questionable for Game 1 Against Pelicans in NBA Playoffs

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said on Thursday that their star guard Stephen Curry is questionable for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Curry went through a full-contact practice for the first time since suffering a sprain in his left knee in a 106-94 win against the Atlanta Hawks on March 23. The injury caused him to miss the team’s past 14 games, including their winning playoffs first round series against the San Antonio Spurs.

“We have to see how his body responds to the rest of the day,” Kerr said after the practice. “I think he needs to string together a few good days of practice. But it was very positive.”

Curry, a two-time MVP and five-time All-Star, will be re-evaluated on Friday. It will be his third and final test before the Warriors determine whether to give him the green light to take the court on Saturday when the two teams play against each other in the opener of their series.
