No Car Free Days in Jakarta Ahead of Eid Holiday

Jakarta Police has announced the car-free day (CFD) event will be closed temporarily ahead of Eid al-Fitr holiday until D day +10, precisely on June 1, 17, and 24, 2018.

“The public visiting CFD is fewer during Ramadan,” said the legal enforcement head of the Jakarta Police’s traffic directorate, Adj. Sr. Comr. Budiyanto in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 5.

In addition, the public started to get their collective leaves during Eid’s homecoming season starting June 10, 2018, so that most Jakartan residents will likely leave the city.

Budiyanto explained the regulation of CFD event is ruled by Gubernatorial Decree No. 12/2016 Article 5 (1) in which stipulating the police could not manage the event in line with the national or international event.

The police, he said, will focus on monitoring homecoming flow. Jakarta administration and Jakarta Police will open CFD event after Eid holiday.
