INASGOC Still Seeks Sponsors From Two Sectors
The organizing committee of the Asian Games 2018 (INASGOC) is still on the lookout for sponsors from the airline and insurance sectors.
“We are yet to have them, and since the start, we do not have sponsors from the two sectors. We are still open for them,” INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir stated here on Thursday.
He noted that the committee will continue to seek sponsors a month before the opening of the event scheduled from Aug 18 to Sept 2 in Palembang and Jakarta.
“The value of sponsorship has, so far, reached Rp700 to Rp800 billion, including in the form of products worth almost Rp400 billion,” he noted.
He said the INASGOC will audit cash funds and products from sponsors.
“If they offer cash certainty, they will expect a return on their investment,” he remarked while elaborating on the importance of the audit.
Francis Wanandi, second deputy for matches administration, stated that until April, a total of 38 sponsors from home and abroad were involved in the event.
“We decided them based on the three categories of regional sponsors, state-owned companies, and domestic private company sponsors,” he explained.
Cahyadi Wanda, director of the revenue department, had earlier noted that the committee was still negotiating with airline and insurance companies to persuade them to participate as sponsors.
“The process is still ongoing, as clear business calculation is needed for it. We must be able to offer benefits to them and the INASGOC,” he added.
