Asian Games 2018: Malaysia Send 600 Athletes and Officials
The Olympic Council of Malaysia or OCM sends 600 athletes and officials at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, 18 August – 2 September 2018.
Secretary General of OCM, Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday, July 11, 2018, said of the number of athletes delegates as many as 442 people, more than the 2010 Asian Games delegation in Guangzhou as many as 333 athletes.
Nazifuddin said it was still in negotiation to hire aircraft with AirAsia’s main sponsors to win the contingent to Jakarta and Palembang.
“Details of the athlete can not be announced but the most likely to be sent to Jakarta,” he said.
Nazifuddin said most athletes will leave for Jakarta on 16 and 17 August 2018 to attend the opening ceremony on 18 August 2018.
He reminded national athletes to give full priority and show their best ability at the Asian Games as the highest competition in the Asian region.
“Indonesia is close to Malaysia, we hope the athletes compete calmly and can do well.” There is no reason for climate and different food, “he said.
Female karate athlete Syakilla Salni Jefry Krisnan was chosen as the bearer of the glorious path or the Malaysian flag at the opening and closing of the 2018 Asian Games.
Chairman of the State Sports Institute and Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Azim Zabidi has been appointed Chairman of the Malaysian Contingent in the Asian Games.
