The World Swimming Champion Will Compete at the 2018 Asian Games

The 2018 Asian Games swimming branch will present an exciting competition. From branches that have many categories of this category, there are several countries that are strengthened by athletes who are able to speak at the world championships and the Olympics. The athletes include China, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Singapore, among others.

China gained a proud achievement at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. By collecting 70 medals, the country’s bamboo curtain managed to finish in third place. Of all the medals earned, 6 of them came from the swimming branch. One of the players whose performance is significant is Sun Yang.

Sun is the first Chinese swimmer to win a gold medal in the 2012 Olympics. In addition, the 1991-born man also holds the record for being the first men’s swimmer in history to earn gold at the Olympics and World Championships on any freestyle number, from 200 meters to 1500 meters.

At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, Sun almost earned every medal for freestyle. In the 400 meters and 1500 meters he successfully won gold, but in the 200 meters he got silver because the finish in second position. Only in the 800 meters he failed to get a medal to beat out freestyle medals.

Another swimming star who will raise attention at the 2018 Asian Games is Kosuke Hagino, from Japan. Unlike the amazing Sun in the freestyle category, Hagino arguably has a specialization in the individual category of medley. Hagino is an Asian record holder for 100, 200, and 400 meters individual medley.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 176 cm tallest swimmer won two titles at the number he controlled, an individual medley. Each gold for the 400 meters, and silver for the 200 meters.

In addition to the above two countries, other Asian countries that have world-class athletes in this swimming branch. Kazakhstan, among others, has an athlete named Dmitriy Balandin, while Singapore kicked off with young athlete Joseph Schooling. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, each athlete contributed the only gold for his country in the swimsuit.

Dmitriy won gold in the 200m breaststroke at the 2016 Rio Games, having previously brought the 100 and 200 meters gold medals at the 2014 Asian Games. Schooling, meanwhile, made history by winning Singapore’s first gold in Olympic history after defeating the champions the world from the United States, Michael Phelps on the 100-meter butterfly at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
