Hierro Talks about Spain’s Failure

Spain coach Fernando Hierro is unable to stem the sad feeling after his side are eliminated from the 2018 World Cup. Their move is stopped by Russia, who is the host.

Spain lost 3-4 to Russia in the last 16 of the match on Sunday (1/7/2018). La Furia Roja were knocked out for losing on penalties after they drew 1-1 with 90 minutes of normal time plus 30 minutes of extra round.

“This is sadness and this is the way it has been outlined (to us) .I have not thrown anyone away (this result),” Hierro said on the BBC’s website.

“However, I am responsible and do not avoid this mistake, we have given our best, but in football,” he said.

“I do not think you can classify us as a working team or a fainting team, between winning and losing,” said the former Real Madrid player.

Spain dominated the game and already ahead in the 12th minute because of an opposing golfer’s goal, Sergei Ignashevich. However, El Matador plays not able to create one just after winning.

In fact, the position became the same after Artem Dzyuba managed to execute a penalty in the 41st minute. The penalty was awarded by defender Gerard Pique a ball ball in the box 16 area.

La Furia Roja leads 74 percent in ball possession. In fact, they can not produce goals after nine targets on target from a total of 25 experiments, for 90 minutes of normal time plus 2×15 extra minutes.

In the shootout drama, Koke and Iago Aspas failed to score. Their kick successfully won the Russian goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, who was appointed as man of the match. (Ahmad Tsalis Fahrurrozi)
