Asian Games 2018 Fun Run Held in Bangkok, Minister Runs Running
The National Olympic Council (NOC) of Thailand in cooperation with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) successfully hosted the 2018 Asian Games OCA Fun Run, which took place on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Huamark Indoor Stadium, Sports Authority of Thailand.
The fun run of the 22nd series was attended by Charouck Arirachakaran, Vice President and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports; and Charoen Wattanasin, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand.
The Asian Olympic Council represented Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Media Manager, as well as two representatives from the president’s office, Issam Trkmani and Elena Chakarova. Indonesia is represented by the executive member of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Helen Sarita de Lima.
“We would like to thank the organizers of the Asian Games, the Olympic Committee of Indonesia and OCA for making Fun Run Asian Games in Thailand a success. Fun run this time not only as a promotional event of the Asian Games, but also as a container of awareness on the Thai community that it will not be long again the biggest sports event in Asia will begin. We hope Indonesia can achieve success, “said Charouck Arirachakaran.
The fun run is conducted as an effort to increase the share of voice of the Asian Games. In addition, the fun run can create unforgettable memories in the younger generation that will become a major part of the upcoming Asian Games.
A joyful activity aimed at echoing the Olympic Movement and improving the share of voice is a distance of 7.8 kilometers and followed by 1,000 participants. The runners are divided into various categories of age 16-50 years it comes from within and outside Bangkok. Enthusiasm was shown by runners as the finisher in the top 10 in all categories was awarded.
The Asian Games 2018 OCA Fun Run that was held in Bangkok was also a concern. For the first time in 29 series of fun runs in several countries, the event was followed by ministerial government officials. Weerasak Kowsurat as Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand stated his involvement in this activity is expected to enliven the spirit of the Asian Games in Thai society
