The Birkenstock Clog Is Cool Again Thanks to Kristen Stewart

If there’s anyone who understands off-duty dressing, it’s Kristen Stewart. The Personal Shopper star may delight in Chanel gowns on the red carpet, but during her downtime, she prefers the simplicity of jeans and an old T-shirt. Case in point: When Stewart stepped out last night in Los Angeles to see a movie at Hollywood’s ArcLight Theater, she chose the most laid-back accessory of all time—a pair of shearling-lined Birkenstock clogs. Sporting her favorite denim-on-denim gear, an outfit comprised of a Levi’s Trucker jacket and skinny jeans, Stewart appearedcool and comfortable.

After two weeks spent wearing haute couture in Cannes, Stewart was clearly ready for a change. Birkenstocks might be cozy to wear, but it takes effort to make them look chic the way she did. Stewart pulled off her trademark lived-in look thanks to a careful consideration of proportion and fit. She paired her oversized jacket and concert tee with figure-hugging denim, keeping things just polished enough that even with shoes that could double as slippers, her outfit didn’t look sloppy.
