Garuda Indonesia Sells New Low-Budget Class Ticket
State airliner Garuda Indonesia launches a new passenger class dubbed Eco Basic, which price is claimed to be lower than the promotional price.
Garuda Indonesia Service Director Nicodemus P. Lampe said the service is still limited to Explore routes using ATR 72-600 and CRJ 1000 NextGen planes. In addition, there will only 12 seats available per flight.
“We want to make passengers willing to fly with Garuda because this class is cheaper,” Nicodemus said today, Thursday, May 24.
As many as 44 flight routes are attached with the Eco Basic class which can already be purchased and operate on Monday next week, May 28.
In the official website of Garuda Indonesia, Eco Basic is grouped in the Economy Class along with the Special Promo, Promo, Affordable and Flexible. Eco Basic has the most minimal service among other types.
Nicodemus said the price set for the class was slightly above the lower limit rate set by the Ministry of Transportation.
The Eco Basic class is also only available at the Garuda Indonesia flight of under 2 hours.
“It [the new class] is expected to add SLF (seat occupancy rate) to 10 percent of each route,” he said.
