Minister Projects Asian Games Gold from 14 Sports

Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi projects the Indonesian team to win gold medals from 14 sporting events in the 2018 Asian Games. “We will try our best in all sports, but in some games, we are confident that we will definitely win,” he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 23.

The minister said that there are other sports that Indonesian athletes are projected wind silver or copper medals.

“There are also sports and disciplines where our athletes take part just to boost their ranks and points,” he said.

Right now, most of Indonesia’s Asian Games’ athletes are training.

Imam was at Vice President Jusuf Kalla’s office today to report the development of athletes’ preparation. According to Imam, in the meeting, Kalla asked the government and Inasgoc to monitor all preparation in Jakarta and in Palembang.

Kalla also asked Imam to directly supervise athletes’ training, and ensure that their needs are met, and the facilities and equipment required are available.
