Asian Games 2018: Training Camp Shuts Down Because Of Low Funds

Asian Games 2018 training camp shuts down as the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has not enough funds for the training camp. A few months back, Pakistan won five medals, including a Gold and four Bronze at the Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast Australia. Presently, players are battling to keep their training camp open so as to plan for Asian Games 2018 occurring in August this year in Indonesia.

A preparation camp for jujitsu, karate, and wrestling was initially held at Lahore. Earlier, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) told the group administration that they could never again keep the camp open because of low funds. Mohammad Bilal, Tayyab Raza, and Inam Butt were also included in the camp.
Inam Butt gave Pakistan their solitary gold award of the competition in the wrestling occasion at the Commonwealth Games while Mohammad Bilal and Tayyab Raza won bronze. A two-time gold medallist, Inam Butt had already won a gold award at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010.

Arshad Sattar, Wrestling Federation Secretary, said that it is a bad news for them. He said that the training camp is closed just three months prior the Asian Games 2018. He further added that other countries are preparing their teams from three years while our training camp is shut down due to the lack of funds. However, Asian Games 2018 will be held at Indonesia from 8 August to 2 September.
