Indonesia Dominates Paragliding World Cup in Kazakhstan
Indonesian athletes dominate the 2018 Paragliding Accuracy World Cup (PGWAC) series in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan on Sunday, May 6. Indonesia wins in three categories: individual men, individual women, and teams.
In the category of individual women, Indonesia secured the first and second place. Ike Ayu Wulandari finished first after collecting 37 points from five landing times. In the second place, Eka Nesti Wulansari garnered 57 points. Both defeated Czech Republic’s athlete Ivana Balakova, who scored 66 points.
In the individual men category, Indonesian representative Jafro Megawanto became the champion along with two other pilots. Jafro collected 11 points, as well as Slovenian representative Matjaz Feraric and Turkish representative Karem Dincer.
Two other Indonesian representatives in the individual men category, Hening Paradigma and Ardi Kurniawan, are in the fourth position with 14 points or three points adrift.
In the team category of the 2018 Paragliding Accuracy World Cup, Indonesia dominated the top three. Of the five teams, Team Garuda 1, Garuda 2 and Garuda 3 each achieved 1, 2 and 3 positions, respectively. Garuda 1 won 93 points, Garuda 2 won 119 points, and Garuda 3 won 334 points.
