KAI Ready to Open Recruitment for Disabled Workers
State railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is ready to open the recruitment for the people with disabilities as the implementation of the law on employment. The work placement will be done according to the ability and condition.
“As the implementation of the law, [the disabled] should not be discriminated,” said KAI’s Director of Human Resources and Information Technology, Ruli Adi, during the commemoration of International Labor Day at Bumiwaluya Station, Garut regency, West Java, Tuesday, May 1.
He said currently KAI has not yet openly recruited special employees from the disabled; the recruitment only opened for health workers. KAI, he said, planned to open the recruitment for the disabled after Eid al-Fitr.
Ruli conveyed that KAI as the largest company of rail transportation will not discriminate against prospective workers if they have the ability to be accepted as employees. The placement will be adjusted based on the workers’ condition.
