‘Wiro Sableng’ Opens Official Merchandise Store on Tokome.id

Action flick Wiro Sableng has collaborated with online merchandise store Tokome.id to launch Toko Sableng, which is selling official merchandise from the film.

Toko Sableng stocks a variety of Wiro Sableng merchandise, including T-shirts, tote bags and cushions designed by Caravan Studio. T-shirts are available for men and women starting at Rp 150,000 ($10).

During Sunday’s launch of the official online store in North Jakarta, Tokome.id vice president of business development Freddy Chandra told kompas.com that the store only had 50 items, as production had just commenced last week on the merchandise. Freddy added that the top merchandise was a T-shirt bearing a “212” logo.

“The feedback on social media has been good, but we’ll proceed step by step, so people don’t get overwhelmed by too many options,” said Freddy, adding that talks on producing action figures had been held , but required further discussion.

The merchandise launch also featured a “meet and greet” with the film’s lead actors.

Dian Sidik stars as Kalingundil, a subordinate of the antagonist, Mahesa Birawa (Yayan Ruhian), and Fariz Alfarazi plays Bujang Gila Tapak Sakti, a warrior who carries a folding fan.

Dian said he had to shave his head for the role. “I wanted to do it because it was a challenge,” he said of representing his character, who is bald and has a beard.

Produced by Sheila Timothy and directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, Wiro Sableng is penned by Tumpal Tampubolon, Sheila Timothy and Seno Gumira Ajidarma. It is scheduled for release at the end of this year.
