Besides, the center is meant to produce key social studies and produce feedback on bilateral relations,” Jona Widhagdo Putri of the University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Social and Political Science said in a written statement on Friday.

Jona attended the inauguration ceremony of the new center on April 22, along with Indonesian researchers Hanief Saha Ghafur, Arie Setiabudi Soesilo and Yuniwati Prayino.

Jona said a strong and deep relationship between the two countries was the main foundation to healthy, stable and sustainable ties between. Indonesia and China have a combined population of 1.66 billion people.
