Indonesian Police Guarantees Asian Games 2018 Athletes` Security

The Indonesian National Police Main Headquarters guaranteed that every athlete participating in the Asian Games 2018 will be safe throughout the game’s procession.

Tens of thousands of police personnel had been prepared to secure the Asian Games that is set to be held in four Indonesian regions from Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and Palembang.

“We will focus on the security around the four main areas; Jakarta, Banten, West Java and Palembang. We are also fully backed up by the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI),”said National Police Spokesman Brigadier General M. Iqbal at Bangka Belitung on Wednesday, April 25.

According to Iqbal, Police Chief General Tito Karnavian has already set up security measures by coordinating joint efforts with related instances, especially Asian Games 2018 organizer INASGOC.

“Our principle is to provide the maximum effort in serving and protecting the public. There will also be some traffic diversions,” said M. Iqbal.

He then said that both the TNI and National Police are set to support the continuity of the Asian Games 2018.|
