South Sumatra Keeps Promoting 2018 Asian Games
The regional administration of South Sumatra keeps actively promoting 2018 Asian Games that will be held in Palembang and Jakarta on August 18 until September 2. “The socialization program will be more massive, particularly among the local community to encourage people participation,” said South Sumatra Governor Alex Nurdin in Palembang, Wednesday, April 25.
Alex stated the city officials have established special program activity by inviting the local community groups. The participants will be given the explanation related to the games, its preparation and its impact on the region as the host.
He mentioned his party previously has conducted a socialization to micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) as well as students and lecturers.
The governor explained that being the host of Asian Games, Palembang has obtained many advantages such as the acceleration and development of infrastructure project which the fund was allocated from the state including Light Rapid Trains (LRT), the construction of Musi Bridge IV and VI, and the sports facility.
In addition, the games will drive the local economy considering the delegates need foods, drinks, and places to stay during the sports match.
Alex pinned his hope the dissemination program will help the local people to prepare the need for delegates and guests prior to 2018 Asian Games.
