GMPG Supports Setya Novanto to Disclose Other Golkar Cadres Involved in e-ID Card Case

The Young Generation of Golkar Party (GMPG) supports the defendant of e-ID card (e-KTP) corruption case Setya Novanto to speak honestly in the trial by uncovering the involvement of other actors in the case.

“Our aim is to meet with Mr. Novanto, and we also support his honesty to reveal the involvement of other Golkar Party cadres who are involved in corruption case of electronic ID cards including Melkias Mekeng mentioned in the indictment by some of the corruption suspects of electronic ID cards,” explained one initiator of GMPG Almanzo Bonara in Jakarta, Monday (4/2/2018).

Almanzo stressed earlier in the process of electronic ID card hearing, Novanto once mentioned the alleged involvement of Mekeng.

During the process of electronic ID card discussion, Mekeng occupied a position in Budgetary Council of House of Representatives.

“We hope that the KPK [Corruption Eradication Commission] can also be firm and immediately follow up Golkar Party cadres who are involved in corruption of electronic ID cards,” said Almanzo as reported by Antara.

According to Almanzo, the GMPG application letter to meet Novanto has been submitted to the KPK on Monday (4/2). It is still waiting for permission from the KPK to visit Novanto.
