David Beckham Attends Charity Football Event in Jakarta
Former England’s football team captain David Beckham arrived in Indonesia to attend a football charity event at Kuningan, South Jakarta on Sunday, March 25. The event was also attended by the Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi.
He maintained that he is always happy to come back and visit Indonesia for the past 12 years, “Indonesian people are very nice and warm,” said David.
David Beckham’s arrival in Indonesia was as the brand ambassador for the insurance company AIA Indonesia in donating 10,000 footballs to the football academies in Indonesia that will be represented by 1,000 children.
The event also features several charity events such as a match between the Indonesian Legends against the Under 16 (U-16) football team, 64 Junior Cup All-Star against four national team players, and the league between AIA junior cup all-star against the national Indonesian football team.
Ten million Rupiah will be awarded for each goal that is produced during each match. The money will be used for the development of a football field at Tulehu Village in Ambon, Maluku, which is known as a football village.
