Rapper Iwa K to Mark 25th Anniversary With ‘Batman Kasarung’
Rapper and hip-hop legend Iwa K is set to celebrate 25 years in the Indonesian music industry by performing at an exclusive concert. Titled 25th Anniversary Concert Batman Kasarung – Iwa K, the event will be held at The Pallas SCBD, South Jakarta, on April 4 at 8 p.m.
The event is set to feature musicians such as Eno NTRL, NEO, Sweet Martabak, Saykoji, Gading Marten and Ramen Gvrl, with Nikita Dompas as the music director. The event is presented by Kayana Delapan as the organizer and Berlian Entertainment as its strategic partner.
“This performance will be an important moment for me. Twenty-five years in the Indonesian music industry is an impressive journey in my life. This time, I want to share different stories to all of my fans who have supported me,” said Iwa K in a press release.
Rama Moektio, CEO of Kayana Delapan, said there would be a surprise from Iwa K. “There will be positive messages that he wants to deliver throughout his music career with the official hashtag #Indonesiawithattitude,” said Rama, adding that the dress code for the night would be ‘hip-hop style’.
Iwa K’s music career began back in 1993 with his debut album Kuingin Kembali (I Want to Go Back). His second album, Topeng (Mask, 1994), received a BASF award. In 2004, his song “Nombok Dong” was included on the soundtrack of thriller film Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. In February this year, Iwa K released his new single, “Sans”, which he composed alongside Jonathan “Jones” Mono and wrote the lyrics for.
