Syahrini Threatened Imprisonment for 18 Months
Indonesian pop singer Syahrini took a photo shoot on the edge of Surabaya’s toll road. It is regretted by PT Jasa Marga. Syahrini is mentioned infringement of Law No. 38 of 2014 on the Road.
“According to Indonesian law the UU No. 38 tahun 2004, everyone is prohibited from doing any deeds that result in disruption of road function within the road space,” said AVP Corporate Communication of PT Jasa Marga, Dwimawan Heru Santoso, when asked for confirmation by AFP by telephone Wednesday.
“The use of hard shoulder is only used for emergency purposes, if there are road users photographed on the hard shoulder, concerned to endanger himself and other road users,” he continued.
When asked whether Syahrini was given permission for a photo shoot on the toll road, Dwimawan asked that it be asked directly to the related party.
The violations committed by Syahrini are contained in Article 12 paragraph 1 of Law No. 38 of 2004 on the Road. The criminal provisions are stipulated in Article 63 which reads, ‘Every person who deliberately engages in activities that result in disruption of the road function within the road benefit space as referred to in Article 12 paragraph (1) shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 18 (eighteen) months or a fine of not more than Rp 1,500,000,000.00 (one billion five hundred million rupiah) ‘.
