Indonesia, Japan Team up For Joint Concert in Osaka

Indonesia and Japan are set to hold a joint concert in Osaka in June to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

As reported by Antara news agency, the Indonesian Consulate in Osaka said the concert would involve student music groups from both countries.

Two Indonesian groups, the Resonanz Children’s Choir and the SMA 3 Bandung High School Angklung Group, are set to be special guests of the event, which will be held at the Sofia Sakai building in the city of Sakai.

The concert will be co-hosted by Sakai Mayor Osami Takeyama and Indonesian Consulate-General in Osaka Mirza Nurhidiyat.

It was first initiated during Mirza’s official visit to the Sakai Mayor’s Office, when the consulate-general first arrived for duty in April.

In addition to organizing the concert, the two officials also agreed in a recent meeting to strengthen cooperation in various fields, especially in economic and inter-community relations, to benefit the people of both countries.
