The AFF Girl U-16 Girls’ Championship Kicks Off In Indonesia

The 2018 AFF U-16 Girls’ Championship kicks off on Monday and will end on May 13 in Palembang, the provincial capital of Indonesia’s South Sumatra province.

“The team has been preparing for five months. I am optimistic that playing at home will lift the players’ spirits,” chairperson of the Indonesian Women’s Soccer Association, Papat Yunisal said.

The Indonesian women’s soccer squad has set a target of reaching the semi-finals of the tournament.

Indonesia shares Group B with Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.

Group A consists of Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Myanmar.

This will be the third edition of the AFF U-16 Girls’ Championship.
